Five Reasons To Visit New York City Again and Again

There 101 reasons to visit New York city, the melting pot of art, culture and lifestyle in the east coast of US. But here are my top 5 reasons why I would like to save up for another trip to the Big Apple.

 1) Purple Yam (1314 Courtelyou Road, Brooklyn)

Purple Yam specializes in Filipino fusion food. It sounds crazy for someone who  has lived all his life in Manila to crave for Filipino food in New York. But Purple Yam in Brooklyn has taken traditional Filipino food into a higher level ready to face the international scene.

2) Metropolitan Museum of Art

With its extensive art collection, it is the largest museum in the US that houses some of the must-see works of Picasso, Warhol and other major artists. And let me share with you two of my favorite works in display:

"Naked Man and His Friend" by Lucian Freud

"Corpus Hypercubus" by Salvador Dali

3) Long Island

A drive to the Long Island is very scenic and relaxing. Houses are almost uniform and beautifully American.

Boardwalk of the Fire Island,
at the Southern Tip of Long Island

Long Island is away from maddening activities of Manhattan. It is a sanctuary minutes away from the city, a dream place to live in.

Veniero's is around the New York University area

4. Veniero's

Yes, I am so predictable. There is always a pastry shop in my must-visit place. But what can I do? Veniero's is an absolute dessert heaven and the New York Cheesecake paradise.

Anti-gravity Yoga

My pretty yoga instructor at Om Factory

5. Om Factory

I liked this yoga studio a lot. Students are very friendly. Teachers are good. This place was part of my daily routine in New York.
